Jarred “Jino” Belser is a custom artist and craftsman whose creative journey began at just seven years old, when he started coloring on basketball shoes with markers! As a lifelong athlete, his childhood curiosity grew into customizing his sports uniforms, cutting and sewing mix-and-match clothing in high school and experimenting with adding fabric to shoes in college. After a tenure in the corporate world, Jino eventually found his way back to what had always come naturally to him: creating with his hands. In 2017, Custom Jino began as a creative hobby, with his wife, family, and friends becoming his first customers and supporters.
Jino’s craft has continued to evolve through years of study, research, experimentation, and learning from artists and mentors. His work extends far beyond customizing shoes. He creates footwear from the ground up, paints detailed graphics using every color imaginable, sews and reconstructs apparel, transforms existing pieces to make them into something new or restores the beloved item back to good condition! Jino also hand creates purses, pouches, travel duffels, hats, belts, wallets - the possibilities are endless. Every piece reflects his belief that craftsmanship is a lifelong pursuit and that there is always another technique to learn and another idea to bring to life.
At the heart of Custom Jino is the belief that everyone has an artist within them. Personal experiences, memories, personality, interests, and style can all become part of something uniquely their own. Guided by his faith in God and supported by his wife, family, and friends, Jino creates pieces that are personal rather than mass-produced and expressive rather than ordinary.
